Cheap X-ray without insurance
An X-ray is quick and usually inexpensive, but urgent care clinics and hospitals can still charge $100 to $400 or more once fees are added. Radiology Save shows the full cash price upfront at accredited imaging centers near you, including the radiologist's read, so you can book an affordable X-ray online.

Why X-ray prices differ
X-ray prices depend on the body part and the number of views. Hospitals and ERs often add a facility fee and a separate radiologist bill on top of the X-ray itself.
Outpatient imaging centers usually charge a single self-pay price. On Radiology Save that price already includes the radiologist's read and your report.
Tips for a low-cost X-ray
- Use an imaging center for X-rays your doctor has ordered, rather than an ER visit.
- Check how many views your order calls for. A 2-view X-ray costs less than a 4-view series.
- Book online with the price locked in, so there's no surprise bill afterward.

Frequently asked questions
How much does an X-ray cost without insurance?
Without insurance, an X-ray at a hospital or ER often costs $100 to $400 or more after fees. Cash prices at accredited imaging centers on Radiology Save are much lower; see the live starting prices on this page.
How long does an X-ray take?
Most X-rays take about 10 to 15 minutes, and the radiologist's report is usually ready within a day or two.
Do I need a doctor's order?
Yes. Every imaging study needs a physician's order (a referral or prescription for the scan). You can book first and upload the order afterward from the secure link in your confirmation email. If you don't have one yet, your primary care, urgent care or telehealth doctor can write it.
What does the price include?
The price you see is the full price: the scan itself, the board-certified radiologist's read and your written report. There is no separate radiologist bill and no facility fee added later.
Can I use my HSA or FSA card?
In most cases, yes. Diagnostic imaging is generally an eligible medical expense, and HSA and FSA debit cards work like regular cards at checkout. Check with your plan administrator if you're unsure.
Can I use Radiology Save if I have Medicare or Medicaid?
No. Radiology Save cannot be used by participants of state or federally funded programs such as Medicare or Medicaid.
